Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the ScoreThis mobile application ("App") or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ScoreThis. By accessing or using the Service, you represent that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

2. Description of Service

ScoreThis is a tournament management mobile application for Padel and Pickleball. The Service allows users to:

• Create and manage sports tournaments across multiple formats.
• Build and maintain player libraries for their club or organisation.
• Record match scores and view live leaderboards.
• Manage multiple courts and rounds within a tournament.
• Track player statistics and match history.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you represent that you have obtained parental or legal guardian consent to use the Service.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 13 years of age.
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
• You are not prohibited from using the Service under any applicable laws.

4. Account Registration

To use most features of the Service, you must create an account using your email address. Authentication is performed via a magic link or one-time password (OTP) sent to your email — no password is required or stored.

4.1 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your email account, which controls access to your ScoreThis account.
• All activities that occur under your account.
• Notifying us immediately at hello@scorethis.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4.2 Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep that information up to date.

4.3 One Account Per Person

Each person may maintain only one personal account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or abuse the Service is prohibited.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

5.1 Prohibited Activities

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other user accounts, or systems connected to the Service.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access or interact with the Service.
• Transmit any unsolicited commercial communications or spam through the Service.
• Introduce viruses, trojans, worms, or other malicious code into the Service.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
• Collect or harvest any personally identifiable information from other users without their consent.
• Use the Service to organise or facilitate any illegal sporting events or gambling activities.
• Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits any other user's use or enjoyment of the Service.

5.2 Fair Use

The Service is designed for managing legitimate sports tournaments. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that appear to be using the Service in bad faith, including creating excessive or fake tournaments, players, or data.

6. User Content

"User Content" means any data, text, or information you submit, upload, or create through the Service, including tournament names, player names, scores, and organisation details.

6.1 Your Ownership

You retain ownership of all User Content you create. By submitting User Content, you grant ScoreThis a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

6.2 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all User Content you submit. You represent and warrant that:

• You have the right to submit the User Content (e.g., you have consent from players whose names you enter).
• The User Content does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights.
• Player data you enter into the App is used only for the purpose of managing sports tournaments.

6.3 Player Data Responsibility

When you enter other people's information (such as player names, skill levels, and gender) into the App, you accept responsibility for having appropriate authority or consent to do so. You should inform players that their data is being managed in ScoreThis and make our Privacy Policy available to them upon request.

6.4 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Property

The Service, including the App, its design, features, functionality, code, graphics, logos, and all other content provided by ScoreThis (excluding User Content), is owned by ScoreThis and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

7.2 Feedback

If you provide us with suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service ("Feedback"), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use, modify, and incorporate that Feedback into the Service without any obligation to you.

7.3 Trademarks

"ScoreThis" and associated logos are trademarks of ScoreThis. You may not use our trademarks without prior written consent.

8. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

ScoreThis may offer optional premium features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases ("Paid Features"). The following terms apply to any Paid Features:

• Prices are displayed in the App and may vary by region.
• All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, subject to their respective terms and refund policies.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
• We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods except as required by applicable law or platform policy.

The core features of ScoreThis are free. We will clearly indicate which features require a paid subscription or purchase.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ScoreThis disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
• Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.
• Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of any content in the Service.

We do not warrant that the App will be compatible with all devices or operating system versions. Tournament results, standings, and statistics are calculated based on data entered by users — we are not responsible for inaccuracies arising from incorrect data entry.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall ScoreThis, its officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
• Damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
• Damages arising from any unauthorised access to or use of our servers or any personal information stored therein.
• Damages arising from errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in tournament data or standings.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to ScoreThis in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ScoreThis and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

• Your use of or access to the Service.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your User Content.
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including privacy or intellectual property rights.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through the Profile screen in the App or by contacting us at hello@scorethis.app.

12.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, if:

• You breach any provision of these Terms.
• We are required to do so by law.
• We determine that continued provision of the Service to you would cause harm to ScoreThis or other users.

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the relevant jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• Notify you via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
